Boobie Cam (I figured I might as well shoot for some keyword hits)

This Newsday (AP) Story offers no Big Surprise, but is interesting nonetheless.

When I used to watch surveillance tapes secreted to me by paid informants to better understand the various capabilities, advancements and suspicions of casino security, we would always see the camera operators capturing special shots of the female patrons. In fact, that is where the cameras true capabilities are really put to the test. Motivation is the key I suppose.

I really though this was an old story as there are “greatest hits tapes” that have floated around for some time. They were sort of the precursors to the “girls gone wild” tapes, except often more voyeuristic.

ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. -- Women, beware: Those "eye in the sky" surveillance cameras used by casinos don't just look for card cheats and crooked dealers. Sometimes, they look for low-cut blouses.
New Jersey casino regulators fined Caesars Atlantic City Hotel Casino $80,000 Wednesday for using surveillance cameras to spy on female employees and customers sitting at casino tables or riding escalators.
On three occasions in 2000 and 2001, Caesars surveillance camera operators "recorded footage of selected parts of the anatomy of several females," in violation of statutes governing the use of clandestine surveillance by casinos, authorities said…. CLICK HERE FOR FULL STORY

Ha...that is funny. All you need are a few well endowed women and you can foil their security....

I'm not sure if those women are really bothered if these cams were trained on them. Why expose them in the first place?

Amie's thoughts are close to my own on that one. I mean, walk into any casino and there are women dressed to show off body parts and be looked at, right?

In answer to David, Yes, the keyword choice did actually provide some hits through links from a blogger who seems to focus on a mixture of poker and porn.

I agree with Amy and Kim that most women who are captured on casino cameras probably don't mind all that much. But I doubt all of those caught on camera feel the same. Remember the whole casino environment is set up to lower inhibitions both with regard to money and otherwise. Note the marketing campaigns - What happens in 'casinos' stays ...It wasn’t the women who were complaining. The New Jersey casino regulators imposed the fine, probably only after they knew the tapes were being exposed in the press.

And finally to answer Mr Underhill (love the username), a few well endowed women certainly can be helpful when it comes to foiling casinos’ security. A few well endowed women can help distract the efforts of any man, unless of course that man’s efforts are already directed toward a few well endowed women.
