More Gambling Explosions

You all see the drive to get handheld gambling devices in Vegas casinos? The little cell-phone sized gadgets that will let you play poker or blackjack while out by the pool or on the golf course. Man, these casinos will do anything to get your money! Reminds me of the poolside blackjack tables the Tropicana Hotel in Vegas once installed. I mean the real ones. My buddies gave them a little splash. They did $5,000 pastpost moves and jumped in the pool if they took heat! Cooled 'em right off!!!

I see I was right about Bernie Kerik, the ex-NY police commissioner who had heat with a sex scandal. If you read my blog back on December 13, 2004, I told you that this guy was more than a sex scammer and as crooked as a pair of (well, not uneven boobs) loaded dice. Well, I called it right on. I see now he's formally accused of taking money or "things of value" from mob-linked contractors tied to Atlantic City...

It can't be helped. It's another one of those strategies used by casinos to lure more players into blackjack or poker. Although I must say, the technology they use is pretty amazing. Nice trick.

First, you have an awesome site and your exploits can only be respected, as I believe the thread of a certain amount of larceny is inextricably interwoven into the survival gene.

That being said, the Kerik issue is sickening, and moreover outrageous in that our Executive branch with all of their power, might, majesty, information gathering and intimidation capacity was unable to have the inside track on this before they went so far as to propose his nomination as Inland Security Czar. That makes you wonder at the absolute ineptitude within the leadership of our country at the very highest level. Your sources knew what they knew and shared that with you, but the President does not have an individual who can "reach out" to find out whats what before appointing someone with a record of stuck on stupid with arrogance to keep it there. Kerik was stereotypical, and in his defense I would say his biography recommends he overcame a certain amount of real life adversity. But his hard ass approach and the coincidence of his tenure coinciding with 9/11 launched him, along with his mentor, Rudy (complete phony) Giuliani, into the National spotlight.

Most repulsive of all the players is the now lionized former Mayor. He sucked up to the White House, and pretended to have been the guiding light of leadership throughout the horrors of 9/11. It was in response to his urging that Kerik was nominated for the Cabinet position. Anyone, even Dubya from Bum Fuck Texas, would think that the mayor would have the character and behavior profile of his Police Commissioner pretty well investigated and clocked.

All of Kerik's shenanigans were undertaken while serving the Giuliani Administration. Go Figure! He made millions with the stun gun people, was Rudy’s bodyguard, and was also in lead of the New York City Gambling Commission.

Mr. Marcus, Sir. I ask you. If you were the mayor of New York do you think you might know somebody who would know somebody who would have at least played pinnacle with someone who could have tipped his mitt as to what there was to look out for?

Puhhhleeeez. New York is a small big town within certain circles. You know it and I know it.

Spend a few nights by the phone booth in P.J. Clarke’s and between Dennis and Freddie, the two guys on the stick, you can get a line on just about anything you would need to know. Assuming your character and "affiliation" met with a well understood and universal standard. If you could sign a tab in Clarke’s, you would easily know what Kerik was all about. Case Closed.

So this brings around once again to Giuliani, and the complete abomination of his entire reign as the symbol of courage and leadership following the tragedy of 9/11

Giuliani has become a wealthy man many times over, when before the Towers fell his wife and mistress were cohabitating in the same government provided housing assigned to the mayor, called Gracie Mansion. That alone should tell you something about Rudy.

Now at the time of Kerik's nomination to a Cabinet level position to protect the United States of America from unprecedented dangers, real or imagined, Giuliani was the principal in a hugely successful "Consulting" firm with contracts to numerous and sensitive clients which enabled him to keep most of his dealings out of the public view.. Because of his perceived acumen in dealing with the Towers, the expectation was that he could share this genius and vision with whomever was willing to cough up the shekels to have him as their International Security Consultant. And of course, to add a veneer of realism to the services provided, Mr. Kerik was installed as a "Partner" in this high priced influence bazaar.

Who is kidding who?

Bush must have been so pissed at Giuliani, after he went so far as to allow him to sleep in the Lincoln bedroom. There were reservations voiced in some corners of the West Wing, but to placate our fearless and shameless mayor, the nomination was officially announced and in no time Kerik imploded and burned like the Hindenburg. It was about twenty two seconds after the scandal broke that Mr. Former mayor turned security genius, cut Kerik loose like a 15th round draft pick with two blown out knees and a heroin habit.

So the point of all this is simple. Yeah, Kerik was not a nice person, and he was plain stupid in the way he went about his act. But more to the point, the so called hero of 9/11 is revealed as the self serving hypocrite that he has always been. One minute his man Kerik is qualified to be in control of the entire security apparatus of the most powerful and wealthy nation in recorded history. And the next he is no longer worthy of holding his position in his place of employment with Giuliani Partners.Inc. I guess in Giuliani’s case loyalty was not one of the required virtues for leadership.

What is well known is that there is absolutely no respect amongst New York Police and Fire rank and file for “Rudy”

He was apoplectic in the immediate aftermath of 9/11. He was secured and urged to regain his composure in a Fire house a few blocks north of ground zero. Two Fire captains, one of whom was subsequently killed when the north Tower collapsed, were forced to baby sit the mayor because he was panicked and incapable of acting with any degree decisiveness. While his policeman and fireman were dying he was shaking and crumbling in his city limo parked out of sight in a closed firehouse.

Of course, hours later, when it was apparent that it was not the Apocalypse, Mayor “Rudy” slotted right into the act from stage right, and has never looked back.

I wonder what he thinks when his thoughts turn to the reality of 9/11 and the Captain who broke the window on the fire house because they had to get the mayor off the streets and calm him down and they did not have the keys for that door..

I wonder what he feels like when he recalls the Captain who gave his life in the collapse of the north tower, but not before assuring Rudy that his safety was rest assured.

You see, it is all about perception, and once Giuliani had the ball he could run up and down the field all day long, and let the President score a few touchdowns in the afterglow of a national tragedy.

Kerik was nothing but stupid and arrogant! Giuliani is cut from a far more sinister cloth.

Richard, I love the site. Post more and lets meet for coffee, we most likely know a few of the same people. God Bless.
