TUNE IN -- The History Channel presents BREAKING VEGAS, The Ultimate Cheat

Tune In:
Tuesday, March 1 @ 9pm ET/PT

Imagine the ultimate cheating move--so outrageous, audacious, and simple that not even the best casino detective can come close to catching the genius behind it... In this hour of a series profiling people who took Vegas for lots of cash, we meet Richard Marcus, who perfected the craft of casino cheating from the 1970s through the early `90s. Join Marcus and teammates Mark "Balls" Abromowitz and Pat Mallery on a raucous robbery romp through the world's toniest casinos. Their primary scheme? Past-posting--laying down or swapping out chips after a winning bet is known. Hot on their tail is casino investigator Andy Anderson who's made it his mission to bring them down. We also explore past-posting's history, security systems' evolution, and the psychology of casino cheating. Features exclusive interviews with Marcus, Abromowitz, and Mallery, and their nemesis, high-tech cheating sleuth Anderson.

This is the series I mentioned in my first blog entry and is based on my book, AMERICAN ROULETTE.

Another New Project: Identity Theft

Take a peek at a new book project I'm working on that will offer unique insights into the headline grabbing world of Identity Theft, entitled IDENTITY THEFT INCORPORATED: A Wild Wealthy Existence – As Someone Else (by Anonymous (AKA Glenn Hastings) written by Richard Marcus). IDENTITY THEFT INCORPORATED is written with a past associate of mine. I met many fascinating people in my days as a casino cheater. The stories "Glenn" has to tell are groundbreaking.

IDENTITY THEFT INCORPORATED is a true-crime memoir that follows “Glenn Hastings” as he and a handful of partners, computer illiterates at their outset, come to manage scores of identities. From simple trips to the library, they quickly grew their enterprise. Soon they were crisscrossing the nation maintaining identities, residences, phony businesses and legitimate employees in cities across the US. While netting millions in cash and merchandise, Hastings criminal ambitions eventually reached beyond America as he manipulated identities to set up larger corporations, taking out sizeable loans from respected financial institutions. Despite several close calls with authorities from several jurisdictions as well as with shady fences, drug dealers, and other less than trustworthy associates, Hastings and his identity theft partners were never caught.

Even before the recent ChoicePoint and T-Mobile attacks, Identity Theft has been regularly cited as THE crime of the 21st Century. So here then, is the true-crime book of this century. This book is the first on the subject told by someone who's assumed hundreds of identities. Not only is the author revealing how ID theft is done, with previously unknown methods and details, he's candidly disclosing his wildly unbelievable yet absolutely true story about his lucrative impersonations.
